    i’m in the administer …
    i’m in the administer of fitting my frozen shoulder (the hard way). lay down on my back with my hands behind my back. lay down on my back with my hands behind head. that covers rotation for both ways for both shoulders (only one shoulder is messed up but making sure the additional shoulder doesn’t get frozen). i’m tolerating the pain as i go. it’s becoming simpler. eventually, i’m going to add pull-ups and some additional type of shoulder manipulating exercise and see how well my shoulder holds up.

    u never use …
    u never use injection. .because when the patient hasnt got the pain he elavates her sholuder further and we dont have any arthrokinematic go in joint so he elavates her shoulder by means of rotation of scapula and the rythm of scapolahumeral will going to miss ..and this is very difficulte for behavior of frozen shoulder

    I wanted to add that I have not taken any perscription pain meds for the last 5 days. I have taken some over the counter meds (Ibprofren). I have been icing the shoulder and that’s all I have needed for the pain. I have no regret having the surgery done.

    Well, I had a …
    Well, I had a frozen shoulder and went through months of PT, a cortizone injection, an x-ray, and an MRI and my pain and range of motion just kept getting worse. I finally opted for the manipulation under anesthesia and while under – the surgeon scoped me and cleaned out my scar tissue. I am a week post op (a week tomorrow) and I already have less pain and can go the arm significantly. I’m still having aggressive PT, and while that’s no picnic – my pain compared to before the surgery is less.

    @orthocarept I am a …
    @orthocarept I am a doctor and I do sometimes order X-rays without a history of trauma. The last x-ray I looked at just today had a spondylolithesis and I wouldn’t have known it without an X-ray and there was no trauma. Physical Therapy is a nice tool, but it is just that, a tool. As a doctor I have to concider many things that you do not as evidenced by your X-ray without trauma. I do agree that there is a lot of over testing, but we can be ruined by one mistake. Excellent luck

    NO NO NO NO NO! …
    NO NO NO NO NO! Cortizone!? people… nueromuscular/ massage therapy is perfect for frozen shoulder! stop using drugs as a quick fix! massage also breaks up scar tissue fantasically! has anyone even considered looking into fascial adhesions which is essentially the connective/ ‘scar’ tissue anyway which IDA ROLF spent her total career remedial! and what about the MRI before he ever had his hands on the patient? he could found all that out through palpation learned early in massage school. freaks

    @yuriym1 i agree …
    @yuriym1 i agree with you also, the use of anti-inflammatory meds… with this said AROM to the pt’s extent followed by PROM would deff help boost overall ROM! Frozen shoulder isn’t rocket science to fix haha

    xray checks for …
    xray checks for arthritis.. cortisone inj works instant miracles albeit fleeting term. getting rid of pain and restoting fujnction is best thing u can do for a poatient

  9. orthocarept Says:

    what a joke! …
    what a joke! medical literature does not support use of tens for pain. how about the doc ordering a xray with no history of trauma and a MRI right off the bat. typical overuse of testing. cortisone, even worse. did you catch how she lifted her arm on the show and when she lifted it in the beginning in his office. NO DIFFERENT! As a PT i have seen numerous cases like this over the past 13 years. i can’t believe health care providers still don’t grasp what really is happening here.

    @robspt, I use …
    @robspt, I use manipulation in conjunction with mobilization, massage, myofascial release, trigger point, PNF and PIR and it works like key in rising ROM.

    pain is an indicator of dysfunction that sets in when there has already been much abuse. The worst thing you can do is not go your joints due to pain. The focus must be in returning function, then pain will eventually subside, that’s why any pain meds are only masking the core problem. mechanical problems must be addressed mechanically. Pain meds may help in taking the edge from the pain so you can go the shoulder, but you must go it or lose it.

    (continuing) My doc …
    (continuing) My doc had me take a lot of ibuprofen or aspirin for the pain (and now I am allergic to them – aaarghh), and sent me to a physical therapist. The PT got me doing mobility exercises with a over-the-door pulley device and moist heat treatments, plus visits to him. It took months, but it worked and I got ALL of my mobility back. He encouraged me to research the condition on the web, but only after he knew I understood that it could get surpass without drastic measures like surgery.

  13. alkanista Says:

    I had a frozen left …
    I had a frozen left shoulder a few years ago. What I learned was that it is a three part administer: 1.) the extremely painful onset period, 2.) the actual frozen period, which doesn’t hurt that much, and 3.) the unfreezing period. The entire thing lasted around 18 months for me, and I know it can go to two years. The woman in this video looks to be at the end of the onset and tender into the frozen period. Surgery is NOT the only recourse if what they are trying fails.

  14. thefather1961 Says:

    I agree the …
    I agree the injections do nothing. I had more pain after the cordisone shot. no more movement than before. Then it hurt so terrible there was no way I could even attempt to go it. The doctor didn’t give me whatever thing for pain except Mobic which again did nothing after finishing the bottle. Physical therapy was out of the question. I guess my next place is the operating room. At least it will be over without anymore issues.

    Totaly agree with …
    Totaly agree with robspt. very disaponting video that doesnt clarify the real behavior protocol of treament for frozen shoulder. The tens is useless unless you do some passive stretching than it would be usefull to mask the pain. My approach iontophoresis with acetic acid or dexamethathon, ultrasound, manual therapy. I get my patient to 160degrees flexion in 1-2 sessions

  16. robspt Says:

    Very disappointing …
    Very disappointing approach to treating a frozen shoulder. How about utilizng excellent manual therapy including soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, and myofascial release. TENS units are of small help if the soft tissue isnt looked at.

    I’ve just …
    I’ve just encountered this problem, so I’d be attracted in hearing more from you Oisi89.

    Are you a PT ?

    I went to the doc with mine. Still waiting for X-ray results. He didn’t order an MRI. He said mine “was not frozen” although its an impingement even though my symptoms match all I’ve read about frozen shoulder. Offered my the shot .. which I declined for now. No drug. He scheduled me for PT but I’m not sure what they’ll do yet.

    It aches pretty much 24/7 and pain wakes me at night.

  18. Olsi89 Says:

    Excellent video, anyways …
    Excellent video, anyways, the injections are worthless, bc. they dont do whatever thing to the real problem and wear off. TENS is for pain management and it doesn’t boost ROM it releases endorphins, the real cause of frozen shoulder is not pain, is the swelling, Cryotherapy can help a lot, US and exercises are the best alternative, sorry for me being so conservative on this video, just an opinion, but excellent video overall.
